I couldn't resist watching crypto keep going up and bought in thinking, "Surely it won't be the peak if I buy," but 30 minutes later it plunged with a massive bearish candle. Whether it's crypto or stocks, whenever I give in to FOMO and buy, it's always the peak. It's uncanny how it knows and plunges right away. Should I open a short position instead when I get FOMO and want to buy? Anyway, I didn't want to deal with the stress, so I took a loss and got out. Whether they pump it back up right away, or drag it out sluggishly to bleed us dry before pushing it up or down, the market whales will decide the direction.

As soon as I sold XRP at a loss, it went up 😭 I'm still at a loss with Bitcoin and Ethereum, but should I be glad I didn't sell them?

Oh... don't say that. I bought at the peak of $120,000 last year because they said it would go up even more, and I also bought Ether at the peak of $4,500. Even with this tiny uptick now, my losses are immense. Saying "it hits the peak as soon as I buy" is what someone like me should be saying.

Looks like someone is in the same situation as me. I bought Bitcoin at 50k, sold it at 80k, bought it back at 100k, and bought Ethereum in the 3,800 range. I'm sitting on tens of thousands of dollars in losses and can't even sell, so I'm just waiting.

Selling right away just because it dropped a bit 30 minutes after buying seems a bit extreme... Since Bitcoin has been moving within a range between $76,000 and $78,000 over the past day or two, even if a short-term red candle appeared, it wouldn't have dropped enough to shake the overall market... Even if you're taking a bit of a loss right now, how about practicing holding on and waiting it out?

If you buy out of FOMO, you won't make money. Even if you do, it's only a small profit. Those who buy and wait when everyone turns away because it's at the bottom are the ones who take home hundreds of percent in profits.

Yesterday at 1 AM Eastern Time, coins like BTC, ETH, XRP, and others all plummeted hard at the exact same time. It seems like it wasn't retail, but institutions setting it up automatically through algorithms. Since then, it's been trading sideways, and no one knows whether it'll go up or down.
