Why is AMD acting like this lately? I rebalanced my portfolio, and it's so frustrating.

I was so heavily invested in NVDA that I trimmed about half of it and rebalanced by buying AMD. I knew it had gone up a lot this year, but I thought diversifying was the right move. However, right after I bought it, it slid after earnings and keeps struggling down at the bottom. If I had just left it alone, I would have made a profit, but instead, buying AMD left me down 9% from my average cost, so the loss feels huge. I don't really want to rebalance again, but I wonder if I should just wait and see. It's so frustrating. Everything else on my list is in the green, but that one is all alone in the red...

Don't worry, AMD will go up too. You bought it cheap (in the 400s), so that's a good thing. I'm averaging up little by little too, even though my average price is ex~~tremely low.

Nvidia and AMD are in the same sector, so... I'm not sure if "rebalancing" really fits... If you want to diversify, isn't buying a different sector the standard way?..
