I'm struggling with FOMO. I wonder if I'm making a mistake in judgment right now...

Last week, I finally sold the stock that went up and I am currently holding cash. My next target is Google in the $330 range, so I'm waiting, but since the stock market seems to have entered a bull market, I'm getting FOMO. I'm anxious thinking I might be making a misjudgment and just wasting time, so I keep searching around for other stocks to buy instead. What should I do when my FOMO gets this severe? Thank you for listening to me vent. T_T

They say if you miss a few big bull markets, your returns drop drastically below even QQQ. You just have to stay in the stock market at all times without completely cutting losses or taking profits.

Just put a portion into QQQ or SPY, and buy in installments whenever it drops. If you keep doing that, it will go up eventually. Don't be anxious just because it drops right after you buy it.

You could just comfortably re-enter when the SPY chart drops below the lower Bollinger Band on the daily chart, though.

So I always keep half in stocks. They say time in the market makes more money than timing the market.

That's usually what people say, but the experts I've seen say there is definitely a time when you must step away from the market. They never trade frequently and wait for the right timing to enter. In other words, they don't get FOMO.

I put money into FDLXX at Fidelity and am just collecting interest. I'm usually not someone who sells stocks, but I sold them to buy a house, and that house had so many problems that I just wasted money on the inspection and lost money on taxes. Since I'm holding off, I'm waiting even longer. If something hits the price I want within this month, I'll buy a bit, but if not, I'll buy if there's another slight dip before the Anthropic IPO, or else I'm planning to just buy Anthropic stock. Since things turned out like this anyway, I'm not really getting FOMO haha. I'm going to get hit so hard with taxes anyway, heh..

I've failed so much doing that too, so I buy in parts. Google's price is down right now as well, so buy in installments and buy more if it drops further. Otherwise, just a very small amount.
