It went up last Friday too but slipped away in the afternoon; will today be the same?.I'm desperate T_TTo be down 150,000 dollars when I'm so close to retirement age.T_TI was in the green for the first time since starting stocks,but then it plummeted even ...

It went up last Friday too but slipped away in the afternoon; will today be the same?

I'm desperate T_T
To be down 150,000 dollars when I'm so close to retirement age... T_T
I was in the green for the first time since starting stocks, but then it plummeted even further T_T
I feel like I'm going to lose my health over this, so I'm really barely holding on.

The strength of the rebound is not very strong; rather, whether it is a rebound or a decline, decreasing volatility provides more stability, so it is better not to get too swayed by daily ups and downs. If you are at retirement age, putting your money into index funds or mutual funds is better in many ways than investing directly in stocks.

I think it's just a technical rebound, I don't think we'll reach this year's high.

Um, I think SPY will get there. Or at least get close to it. I don't think the Nasdaq will reach its previous high. It is moving similarly to the pattern that appeared before the drop last April. Historically, looking at seasonality, a correction usually comes in the third quarter. And a rally will start right before the election. Then it will probably break the previous high again. If you say "it's different this time," there's nothing I can do. Because of Big Tech earnings, there are layered hedges, so there's a high probability that a sharp drop won't happen immediately, and the direction will be determined around the time Big Tech earnings end.

It depends on what you bought. If you didn't buy leverage, it will go up if you wait. You just have to think of it as letting it sit, what else can you do? Watching it day by day is agonizing. If you don't press the stop-loss button, it's just a number on your account.
