Ah… so this is why some people commit suicide…

I'm such a coward and can't read the market at all—stocks drop despite good earnings and rise even when interest rates go up. Not knowing what to follow, I just watched for a few days, and after hearing that semiconductors were crashing, of all days, yesterday was when I bought inverse ETFs... T_T Watching my money get wiped out in an instant...

After the market closed yesterday, I came to the board and saw people saying it would rise today too, so I hurriedly sold this morning, only for semiconductors to drop and the inverse to rise again T_T
Sigh, I guess it's just my miserable fate.
My husband has been unemployed for over a year, and now my hard-earned money has been wiped out... T_T

Don't chase after money; you should make money chase you.
I can see the impatience of chasing money in your post.
For retail investors, investing in an index or blue-chip stocks and leaving them alone is how you make money chase you.
Instead of chasing after things like inverse funds or semiconductors, put it in an index and try waiting.

Whether it's gambling or stocks, the psychology of trying to recoup your losses causes even greater damage. The safest way is to just sit on the sidelines or take a cut on the side...

Money is of course precious, but I believe investing should really be done with money that won't cause major disruption to your life even if it's completely gone.
Please just put the money that's already gone behind you and look for ways for your family to live a healthier life.
Even if your husband lost his job, as long as he is healthy, he can start doing part-time work or driving Uber right away, and you could take up a cash job as well, OP.
If you have children, you need to pull yourself together even more; think about how hard it would be on the kids if they knew their mom was even thinking about wanting to die because of stocks and money.
...
OP... I'd really like to buy you a meal or a cup of coffee today...
If you leave your ID, I'll give you my contact info.
Delivery is possible even if you're far, so I'm not asking to meet up in person. I'm working right now too, haha.
I truly mean this.

Heartfelt advice and the warm consideration of a cup of coffee... I am even more touched. ^^
Have a great weekend, too.

In times like this, just doing nothing gets you halfway there... Don't look at your stocks, and if you focus on your daily life, it will recover as time passes.

That's how you learn everything. After all, there's a saying that investing is a blood sport.

It’s not that you’re destined to die, but rather a time when you should study the market and manage your mind. When people first start out with stocks, everyone makes buying and selling decisions out of anxiety due to uncertainty and suffers a lot of losses. However, if you reflect on why you made such decisions every time you make a mistake and read books on investing, you will learn what to do next time.

You spoke of dying so easily that my nagging went on for too long.

The biggest problem seems to be that you blindly trust what others say and put in a lot of your hard-earned money. I'm sorry, but it seems like you're treating stocks like gambling. You keep repeating things like, "I jumped in because they said...", but if you do it like this, your money will be wiped out in an instant... And if you had tried doing it little by little, you wouldn't feel suicidal like this, so it seems like you put in a lot of money all at once. I'm sorry for saying this when you're already upset, but I wrote this because I feel a bit frustrated. It's disheartening. You must already be having a hard time, and facing forced liquidations yesterday and today, I can only imagine how tough it must be for you to have posted this here, but...

It seems like you're investing your hard-earned money too much like a gamble...ㅜ

This is so stupid. I'm sorry, but it seems like you're treating stocks like gambling.

I recommend the book called "The Psychology of Money."

Money also has attributes, so the money of a relaxed investor and the money of an impatient investor have different characteristics.
You need to clearly understand what characteristics the money you are investing has, think carefully about things like your own investment inclination and background, and invest cautiously.
While investing is indeed about making money, never losing it is the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd rules mentioned by Buffett.

When the market is shaking like this, doing nothing is one of the ways to protect it.

The money of a relaxed investor and the money of an impatient investor are different in nature. When the market is volatile like this, doing nothing is the way to protect it.

I don't know if the rumor means they're constantly buying and selling, or what it's even talking about.
